FAQ  Is your business licensed, insured and bonded?Yes, yes and yes. We take our business very seriously. We feel it is important for people to know that we are licensed, fully insured and bonded. This provides protection for your animal family members, your personal property and our caregivers. How do I begin services with Merry Puppins?During our initial contact via phone or email, we will set up a free pet care assessment with each new client and their animal family members. We like to think of it as a get acquainted session. Paperwork to schedule services is completed during this session which usually takes about an hour. Customizing a plan for you and your animal family members, learning their routine and commands is of the upmost importance to us. We take the time to do this with you. What if my pet requires veterinarian care while I’m away?We hope this does not happen, but in the event it does, we are prepared. During our pet care assessment, we ask for your veterinarian information and have you complete a release form to have your pet treated. We will always make an attempt to contact you before the veterinarian takes any action. However, if your pet's health is seriously at stake, we will act in the manner that you requested on your veterinarian release form. How far in advance of my trip should I book your services?When you are aware of your travel dates, call us up to check for our availability. Plan ahead especially for holiday seasons and summer vacations. If you are a new client, we ask for at least 2-weeks notice to schedule our pet care assessment. We will work with new clients if your trip is less than 2-weeks away depending on our availability for scheduling the pet care assessment and covering the pet sits. Will I meet the person who is actually doing the pet sitting for me?Absolutely, we wouldn’t have it any other way. We want you and your animals to be comfortable with the pet care provider who will be covering the pet sitting services we are providing. Must my pet(s) be current on their vaccinations?Yes, your pet(s) must be current on all of their vaccinations with the exception of the vaccination for Bordetella (Kennel Cough). However, we recommend that dogs who come into contact with other dogs frequently at the dog park, attending dog friendly events or attending obedience-training classes have this vaccination. If you have any questions, please consult your veterinarian on recommended vaccinations for your pet. How will I know what services were actually completed in my absence?After the completion of each walk or visit, we will leave a daily log for you. This note will include, but is not limited too, the following information:* • time of arrival and departure • description of pet feedings and/or medications dispensed • any household chores completed - bowls washed, plants watered, etc. • pet’s overall behavior for the day • information on walks taken • details on games played and/or exercises completed - the quality time spent with your pet(s) *Please note that depending on the services Merry Puppins is providing, all the above listed information may not be included. |
